Parking- Limited parking is available at the Huyck Preserve for those visitors wishing to enjoy our Lake Program or Hiking Trails. Visitor parking is available at the Visitors Center, Eldridge Research Center, and Lake Myosotis Boat Docks. Please contact the Visitors Center (518-797-3440) with any questions about parking, the lake program, or our trail system. Hiking the Huyck Preserve- The main trail head begins at the Visitor's Center located on Main Street in the town of Rensselaerville but there is access to trails from the Eldridge Research Center and Lake Myosostis Boat Docks, both off Pond Hill Rd. For your own safety visitors are asked to stay on the trails. Please respect any research sites you may encounter while hiking. Dog Policy- At the Huyck Preserve, we love animals. However, our doggie visitors tend to do what dogs do: dig, chase, and leave behind 'special gifts.' As a result, dogs are allowed on Huyck Preserve property but must be kept on a leash at all times. Owners are also responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
