Registration for Huyck Preserve Summer Education Programs Is Now Open
Huyck Preserve summer education programs offer something for every student curious about nature and science! Younger students are immersed in the outdoors through hands-on science, exploration, and fun. High School students experience a significant ecological research project and learn from visiting scientists, Huyck Preserve staff, and college interns. We always sneak in time for fun too - with a swim, hike, or other activity.

Visit UsTrails are open from dawn to dusk year-round. Admission is free to walk and hike the trails, picnic, fish and boat (non-motorized) on Lake Myosotis, and for skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Motorized vehicles and bicycles are not allowed. Dogs must be on leash at all times and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Huyck Preserve is a carry in, carry out preserve. Please help us keep our Preserve beautiful by taking all trash with you. Also, please respect any research sites you may come across while at the Preserve.

Find out current conditions at the Huyck Preserve before you visit.
Our PhenoCam, made possible through a research project at the University at Albany, provides a current view of conditions at our Lincoln Pond.
Our weather station outside Eldridge Research Center continues our long- term weather data collection and helps you plan your visit.
Because the readings shown are instantaneous, the precipitation measurement does not fully reflect our recent history of rain or snowfall. |
