COVID Protocols

COVID-19 Update

Current Trail Status

In response to the situation regarding COVID-19, the Huyck Preserve is adjusting its operations effective immediately and until further notice.
Trails will continue to be open dawn to dusk, seven days a week. Come out and reap the many benefits of nature while taking preventative measures like social distancing when visiting.

All Huyck Preserve events and programming are postponed and registration for upcoming events is suspended.

The Visitors' Center and staff offices are closed. Staff will be available via email. Please contact us at info@huyckpreserve.org or through our individual emails which can be found here.

We look forward to coming together again. In the meantime, we thank you for your support and wish you good health.
We recognize that people are eager to get to the woods for some much-needed stress relief. For our trails to remain open during this pandemic, please follow the following protocol to minimize the spread of COVID-19 while recreating:
-- Recreate locally, choosing trails close to home.
-- Avoid busy trailheads -- if one of our parking areas is full, please consider a different trailhead, a different preserve, or come back another time.
-- Keep at least six feet away from other hikers, and only hike with close family.
--Wear a mask when social distancing is not possible including on busy trails and in parking areas.
-- Keep all dogs on leash (as is required at other times), and do not allow your dog to interact with other hikers.
-- Stay home if you have had known exposure to COVID-19 or are feeling symptomatic.
(NYS DEC)
Enjoy your visit here, and thank you for doing your part to keep our trails safe and open during this time.
