Newsletter Cover Contest

We’re looking for beautiful photos taken by friends of the Huyck Preserve to include in our Myosotis Messenger newsletter. Send us your best photos for a chance to be featured! Photos taken this year or a previous year’s fall have the best chance to be featured. 
One entry will be chosen for the cover and the winning cover image will receive a Hike the Huyck car magnet.
Other images may be selected for the inside of the newsletter. The Myosotis Messenger is sent to all current Huyck Preserve members. 


  • Entries are limited to up to three images per person.
  • Photos must be submitted before 5 PM on October 13, 2023 to be considered for inclusion in the fall newsletter
  • Files names should include the subject matter and your full name. Example: “Waterfall_JaneDoe.jpg”​

Subject matter may include landscapes, wildlife, hiking, swimming, or something else! Submissions are not limited to only photography. Images of paintings or drawings depicting scenes from the Huyck Preserve, or other artwork related to the Preserve are also accepted.

    (Your images will always be credited with your name listed by the image unless it is requested otherwise.)

Trouble submitting through the form? Submissions can also be emailed directly to info@huyckpreserve.org.
Please title emails "Newsletter Photo Submission." The location, subject, and date the photo was taken should be included in the body of the email.

Example: 
Email title: Spring 2023 Newsletter Photo Submission
Email body: Lincoln Pond, Beaver Dam, 1/2/2023 
File attachment: “Waterfall_JohnDoe.jpg”

It is preferred that files be submitted in a .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .tif format.
