We are offering to host a wilderness first aid class through WildMed Associates sometime spring 2016. Currently, we are seeking interested individuals (and the dates they are available) from local organizations including surrounding colleges and universities. The courses offered provide basic to advanced first aid training and CPR to individuals who may find themselves in remote areas without easy or quick access to medical facilities (e.g. field researchers, hikers, backpackers, rock climbers, camp counselors, etc.). If you are interested in this program and certification please click the "Read More" link on the lower right corner to get the details and costs. We need 14 participants to be able to host this program - so tell your friends! Interested parties should email Dawn O'Neal PhD. at [email protected] with your contact information and available dates, or call the office at 518-797-3440 with their course preference and dates they are available by February 8. Housing is available for all options at $25/day. Course prices are based on the minimum student number. If we have more than the minimum, course price may be reduced. I'd like to take the WFR course if possible. It seems you need 64 hours to do the recertification, so it would be great if you could offer that. If not, I'd still be interested in the shorter courses.
